By utilizing its command-line interface or library, PirateWeather allows users to easily retrieve weather data from NOAA. It’s an open-source and free Python package.
An open data journalist and developer named Ben Welsh created PirateWeather. The application is available on GitHub under the MIT License. NOAA’s National Weather Service API is employed by the package to extract weather information such as current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts.
The organizational structure of PirateWeather differs from that of traditional companies since it’s an open-source project. A community of contributors maintains and develops it. GitHub provides tools for version control, code collaboration and issue tracking to host PirateWeather’s technical infrastructure.
