Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, has awarded Contxt a research and development grant to build a new solution to redact and transform personal data.
As digital applications collect more personal data from consumers, citizens, and customers, it is crucial that organisations understand and respect the purposes of the data they manage. Today, enforcing consent and preference is challenging, and as a result, personally identifiable information (PII) is over-replicated and over-exposed. This leads to increased risk of inappropriate personal data exposure.
Innovate UK’s investment will accelerate the development of Contxt’s machine learning model that analyses PII in motion, then redacts and minimises that data in real time. This provides a consolidated view of personal data movement and also a single place to manage privacy and security policies around personal data.
Contxt’s first product, Darkspark, has greatly enhanced visibility of personal data movement, and this additional capability provides the ability to remediate personal data over-exposure across the enterprise for the first time without updating end-user applications.
Innovate UK funds business and research collaborations to accelerate innovation and drive business investment into R&D. Innovate UK is part of UK Research and Innovation. For more information about Innovate UK, visit www.innovateuk.ukri.org.
